case study #3: PADECO
What We Built and Why It Worked
PADECO’s mission; fighting poverty, disease, and inequity in Tanzania through community development, literacy, job creation, and emergency response is broad by necessity. That breadth is exactly what made the organization hard to introduce quickly online: a funder scanning the old site couldn’t tell in ten seconds who PADECO serves, what it actually does day to day, or why it should be trusted with a grant.
We rebuilt PADECO’s website and communications around a single question every donor and partner is really asking: what happens to the people you serve because you exist? The new site answers that directly, structured to walk a first-time visitor from PADECO’s mission, to the specific programs delivering it, to a clear next step partner, donate, or get in touch.
Because PADECO is largely staffed by a young, mission-driven team, we also built the messaging to reflect that energy honestly, rather than defaulting to generic NGO language. The result reads like an organization run by people who are actually in the communities they describe because they are.
PADECO, who are they?
PADECO (Participatory Development Concern) is a Njombe-based Tanzanian nonprofit working to fight poverty, disease, and inequity through community development, literacy programs, job creation, and emergency and relief services
What was the challenge?
PADECO needed a professional, credible online presence to support grant applications and donor conversations many funders require a functioning website and active communications before they’ll consider a proposal. The existing presence didn’t clearly communicate the organization’s mission, programs, or the specific communities it serves.
How did Azieni help?
We used StoryBrand messaging to reframe PADECO’s mission around the communities it serves as the hero of the story, with PADECO positioned as the guide equipped to help. The site was structured to move a visitor from problem (poverty, inequity, lack of opportunity) to PADECO’s programs as the plan, to a clear call to action for partners and donors. We layered in an ongoing social media strategy to keep the organization visible between funding cycles.
What are the deliverables?
- A rebuilt website with clear program pages: community development, literacy, job creation, and emergency relief
- A donor and partner-facing “why PADECO” section built around mission and track record
- A consistent brand voice across web and social, reflecting the team behind the organization
- Ongoing social media management to maintain visibility between grant cycles
- A streamlined contact and partnership pathway for funders and collaborators.
